Introduction

My profession primarily focuses on building decision support information systems, applying GIS and remote sensing technology, with 20 years of experience. I design and implement systems for collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data to support decision-making processes across various fields. In water resources management, I develop systems for monitoring water sources, quality, and usage. In the field of natural disasters, I create systems for risk assessment, response management, and disaster mitigation planning. In vegetation protection and agriculture, I construct monitoring and alert systems for crop pests and diseases, monitor changes in land cover, and assess crop health. I have made significant contributions to the application of GIS and remote sensing technology in various fields, helping to address complex challenges and improve decision-making processes in diverse contexts.

RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGY, GIS AND AUTOMATIC CONTROL ENGINEERING FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM ON MANAGEMENT AND EFFICIENCY USE OF WATER RESOURCES IN DRY SEASONS IN RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGE, PARTICULARLY APPLIED TO HA TINH PROVINCE

Client: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment

Main project features: Control of irrigation systems under the management of the Provincial People's Committees, Irrigation Construction Companies, Water-using Cooperatives. Each irrigation system consists of important works (reservoirs, dams, irrigation pumping stations, major culverts), canals, constructions on canals, fields with specifications, construction files, surveillance camera systems... Management of automatic monitoring data from monitoring stations and meteorological forecast data is based on the sources of GFS, Meteo Blue, ECMWF. The management system automatically calculates the water supply capacity of each irrigation system, predicts the future water demand to irrigate and present water demand of agricultural crops, as well as estimates water equation and makes plans for irrigation. Using satellite images Sentinel-1 identifies the characteristic curve of the reservoirs for real-time water capacity tallying, mapping rice and vegetables to estimate water demand depending on each stage of plant growth.

Activities performed:

  • Using satellite images Sentinel-1 for re recovering and identification of the characteristic curve of the reservoirs;
  • Using images SAR Sentinel-1, automatic interpretation and mapping of rice age and main rice crops in the province of Ha Tinh.


RESEARCH ON REMOTE SENSING IMAGES FROM MODIS AND SENTINEL-3 FOR MORNITORING AGRICULTURAL DROUGHT

Main project features: Study of spectral indexes for the monitoring and establishment of agricultural drought maps; calculating TVDI (Temperature-Vegetation Dryness Index) based on MOD11A2 from MODIS and LST from Sentinel-3 to perform agricultural drought maps of Ninh Thuan Province.

Activities performed:

  • Collect and pre-process photos from MODIS and Sentinel-3;
  • Update pixels to PostGIS;
  • Calculate TVDI and establish the agricultural drought map.


RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF GIS AND REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGIES FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF DYKE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM IN VIETNAM, MORNITORING THE RIVERBANK EROSION PROCESS AND ALLUVIAL PROCESS OF RIVERS, SEA SHORES AND WARNING SAFETY RISK OF DYKES

Main project features: Management of all dyke maps and constructions on the dykes in Nam Dinh province; Updating and displaying technical specifications; Allowing adding, changing the location of works directly on the map; Making data synthesis reports; Application of remote sensing images SPOT 5, SPOT7, WorldView2, Sentinel-2 over the years for establishing maps of land covering, population, riverbank and seashore erosion and alluvial areas, and maps to classify groups violating safety corridor dykes; Applying MODIS images for monitoring and analyzing changes in coastal protection forests, alerting the risk of landslides based on large fluctuations in protection forests.

Activities performed:

  • Take part in data collection and analysis, and designing the system;
  • Programming and building WebGIS system and the functions of the system except for protection forest change monitoring function based on MODIS image analysis;

ESTABLISHMENT OF GIS FOR DATA MANAGEMENT AND PREDICTION AND FORECASTING MAJOR PESTS ON SOME MAIN CROPS IN VINH PHUC

Main project features: Computerization of the data investigation and collection process on the current state of crops, pests on rice and vegetables, weather... at the commune level of the Plant Protection Sub-Department; Development of progress charts, current status maps and data reports; Building short-term prediction function of pests and diseases on rice and vegetables by expert system and math model (automatically finding multivariate regression functions between temperature, humidity, rainfall with depth, area infection and time of outbreak); Using open sources MapServer, PostgreSQL and PostGIS for management of spatial data, Web programming language Java.

GIS FOR MANAGEMENT OF IRRIGATION AREAS AND HYDRAULIC WORKS OF TUYEN QUANG PROVINCE

RESEARCH AND ESTABLISHMENT OF GIS FOR MANAGEMENT OF AVIAN FLU ON POULTRY AND FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE ON CATTLES

Main project features: Building GIS software to manage information on livestock and poultry breeding and trading in the province; Synthesize data on breeding, vaccination and forecast the direction of transmission by wind, garden birds, through wholesale markets and small traders, through water sources at levels from direct transmission to indirect levels. Using C ++ language, MapObjects 2.1 library and ArcSDE 8.2 of ESRI to build software.
